Kathryn Vaillancourt, PhDc

Kathryn is a Ph.D. candidate in neuroscience at McGill University. She uses post-mortem brain tissue to study how epigenetic mechanisms, like DNA methylation and chromatin organization, are involved in cocaine addiction in humans. Through her research, she has developed expertise in the multi-faceted world of molecular psychiatry, as well as a passion for science communication.

Kathryn is always exploring new ways to bring her excitement for neuroscience to others, and was the co-founder and host of the On Your Mind neuroscience podcast from 2013-2016. She is also an active science writer for multiple online outlets, and is working on her skills as a science storyteller.
